Hi, guys —

My fiancé and I are planning a destination wedding. We found a beautiful place to have a reception back in our home town for friends and family that cannot travel.

This building is part of the Catholic Church: Our Lady of Lourdes. I am Catholic but belong to a different church.

  • Is it Church law that if we don't get married in the Catholic church that we can't celebrate in a church community building?

Juliette

Mary Ann replied:

Juliette,

Ask the priest at the "destination" parish, and he will make arrangements with your home parish to be able to do the ceremony away.

Mary Ann
