Sure it is! I myself, at various points in my life, have had certain thoughts and reflections come to my mind based on a current struggle or cross I am dealing with. It's a way that Our Lord manifests His presence in our lives in a quiet, personal way.

When I originally read your question, the first thing that came to my mind was the promise Our Lord gave to St. Faustina about those who recite the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at the hour of their loved one's death and how much Mercy their faithfully-departed loved ones would receive.

What Mike said makes sense since about a month ago was Divine Mercy Sunday and Sister Faustina is associated with it.

You could have any number of recollections that have melded together as far as the Scripture/prayer goes.

• Did you try going through the missal and checking the readings for the Sunday's in the time frame you heard it?
