Brad,

You ought to consider some deeper theological thinkers to get to a place where you can contemplate some of the deep mysteries of God but first start with a little primer, like Frank Sheed's Theology For Beginners. Then try some C.S. Lewis, such as Mere Christianity, and work towards some like St. Thomas Aquinas or St. Augustine.

The great minds wrestled with all the same things you are, but the difference is they kept probing and let the Spirit guide them into incredible insights. Tap into this wealth of wisdom and you will be greatly enriched in your Catholic faith.

There is a vast ocean to explore and you are only getting on the boat, don't turn back.
