These topics generally are talking about a matter which is the subject of science versus religion.
For example, how the planets orbit the sun or gravity functions are matters for science. There is no jurisdiction for religion to comment on the inner workings of these dynamics for they are not matters of faith.
What is proper to religion are matters of faith: that the universe exists because God created it — something which science can neither prove nor deny — though many scientists have attempted.
Often the conflict between science and religion is when some party tries to apply the discipline of one domain to the other. Religion cannot explain the solar system (hence the unjust critique of Galileo) nor can science determine God did not create the universe.
