Cradle Catholic Carol wrote:

Hi, guys —

I've just read a little bit about Jezebel (from the Bible) getting involved into false gods and things associated with the underworld. I happened to notice that the brand name on several garments I wear says Jezebel.

I don't want to be superstitious or anything, but I also want to make sure that it's okay to be Catholic and still wear these garments if they bear that name.

I don't want to promote anything that isn't good and from God.

Thank you for your help.

Carol

  { Can I remain a good Catholic and still wear garments that have an unsavory association? }

Bob replied:

Dear Friend,

The name of the garment, which may have unsavory associations, doesn't affect your good standing as a faithful Catholic. Use it as a reminder to pray for all those struggling with habitual and serious sin.

Peace,

Bob Kirby

Carol replied:

Bob,

Thank you so much for the prompt response! and may God bless you!

Blessings In Christ,

Carol

Mike replied:

Hi, Carol —

While I don't disagree with anything Bob has said, in this culture (where, in my opinion, people are running away from moral values), I would encourage you to ponder maybe a partial change in wardrobe.

Check out these site for some good ideas:

Certainly, Catholic values are good values.

Just my two cents,

Mike
