  { Can I use a Tibetan singing bowl to meditate on the Lord? }

Bob replied:

Dear Gabriel,

Thanks for the question.

No, . . Tibetan singing bowls are tools from a pagan religion which is not only errant, but potentially dangerous inasmuch as demonic powers have license to use these things for their evil purposes.  These items are not sacred and not blessed.

Only sacramentals from our Christian faith are safe and appropriate.

Check out 1 Corinthians 10:20:

20 No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God.  I do not want you to be partners with demons.

1 Corinthians 10:20

Find some Gregorian chant and go with that if you really enjoy the added musical dimension to your meditations.

Peace,

Bob Kirby
