Hi, guys —
I am a 53-year-old, stay-home wife and Mom,
and I come from a very long line of Catholics.
That said, the faith continues in the
future generations of our family. Recently,
when I was reminiscing with some
friends. I mentioned that I remembered,
as a child, my grandmother and great aunts
discussing that Jesus was once referred to
as the Prince of Darkness in their childhood,
because he brought light to the darkness. Well,
after being called a liar by one
who calls himself a former Catholic and
has embraced the idea of the Rapture, I tried
to do some research, in vain,
but found no reference of this.
Can you please enlighten me on this matter?
Thank you,
Karen Pyle

Ann replied:
Hi, Karen —
I have never heard of anyone calling
Jesus by this title, especially since
He is the Light of the World.
I can see how it could have been
used in a manner that meant well,
and perhaps it came from a poor translation
of another language's way to call
Him, the Conqueror of Darkness.

Hi, Mary Ann —
Thank you for the reply.
I am just
perplexed and confused over the clear
memory — but like you said,
it could have been a misinterpretation
somewhere along the way.
Thank you again!
