That's easy; just go to Confession on a regular basis and make sure you mention all known grave sins and the number of times you committed them to the best of your memory as well as any venial sins you have been struggling with.

Also, don't be too scrupulous. The Holy Spirit, from within, will guide and remind you of the sins (e.g. this sin or that sin) that you should mention. Follow the Confessor's penance keeping in mind that Jesus is working through the priest/Confessor.

Our Blessed Lord Jesus is not some Divine Master ready to clobber you when you make the slightest sin. No, He the Loving, Merciful Savior who understands all the struggles you have with any sin because He was a man like us in all things but sin.

He's rooting us on and helping us fulfill our vocation in this part of our Earthly life!
