Dear Tommy,
I am not familiar with any plenary indulgence one can receive if they attend Mass on their parish's feast day and receive Holy Communion.
To receive any indulgence, you first have to be in a state of grace. You can receive a plenary indulgence by doing one of the four numbered devotionals followed by all three of the bulleted devotions below.
- Stations of the Cross
- Saying the Rosary within a Church or (Outside a Church within a family group, pious union, or someone else)
- Spending at least a half hour reading Scripture
- Spend at least a half hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
- Receive Holy Communion on that day
- Go to Confession within two weeks.
- Say prayer intentions for the pope (One Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be)

I wanted to share with you part of the current Norms on Indulgences as it relates to Tommy's question. It will give you a better answer for Tommy.
From the Manual of Indulgences
N15. A plenary indulgence application only to the faithful departed can be acquired in all churches and public oratories—and in semipublic oratories by those who have the right to use them—on November 2.
In addition, a plenary indulgence can be acquired twice a year in parish churces: on the feast of the church's titular saint and on August 2, when the "Portiuncula" occurs, or on some other more opportune day determined by the Ordinary. |
