Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I'm an American, born and raised in Michigan, who lives in Canada.

Over the Christmas season, I began feeling incredibly homesick. I love my Canadian wife and daughter. Living in Canada has many benefits but I also miss revisiting my former home state: Michigan and spending time with my sister, who still lives there.

I haven't visited my homeland since 2015. Thanks to the pandemic and financial issues, my next trip to Michigan has been indefinitely postponed. In order for this trip to happen, my wife has to research:

  • my passport
  • PRCR (Permanent Resident Card Renewal) Applications, and
  • COVID Documents

that I have to present to the Customs officers at both borders plus, we have to save up money for the:

  1. application fees
  2. gasoline
  3. restaurants, and
  4. grocery stores.
  • Can you please recommend a saint or Marian title I can pray to so that, God-willing, I will have all the necessary documents and afford a trip to Michigan?

Thank you in advance.

God bless all of you, for your assistance.

Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Steven

Eric replied:

Dear Steven,

Sorry to take so long to get back to you.

Your situation seems rather specific. Patron saints tend to be rather generic in their purview.

Perhaps my colleagues can recommend a saint.

Eric

Bob replied:

Dear friend,

As Eric said, I don't know of a particular Saint for this circumstance, but St. Ignatius came to mind, perhaps because he did a good bit of travel and likely had logistics to solve along the way.

Peace,

Bob Kirby

Steven replied:

Thanks Eric,
Thanks Bob,

Yes. I have prayed to Blessed Solanus, in the past and I have also prayed to St. Ignatius in the past.

God Bless You Both!

Steven

Mike replied:

Hi Steven,

I too, can't think of a saint off the top of my head but after a brief search of the code in our database, I gathered these web pages that will give you a list of Patron Saints to choose from.

To my colleagues and readers of this posting: If I missed a resource, please let me know and I will add it to the list below.

Just read through all the pages Steven and let the Spirit guide you to one you feel most comfortable praying to, obviously along with Our Lord.

Thank you for the web pages Mike.

God Bless You!

Stay safe and healthy.
