My question is I can't get to Mass on Saturday or Sunday; I just moved to New Jersey and I'm 74 years old and don't drive. For me to take a Taxi to Mass on weekends would cost me $40, each week, which I can't afford. I live below the poverty line and am on a fixed income. I am able to get to church weekdays via a shuttle service where I live but it's only available Monday thru Friday.
Would it be OK if I attended Mass on a weekday once a week instead of weekends?
I don't want to commit any sins , so would this situation be OK with the Catholic Church, I also would be able to go to Confession during the weekday Mass.
Thank you and God Bless
Nick

Mike replied:
Dear Nick,
While going to weekday Mass is laudable, it does not take the place of going to Mass on Sunday, the Lord's Day.
I sense New Jersey is a very dense, populated area. For that reason, I would check out the following areas based on where you live.
Below is the list if dioceses for the New Jersey area taken from Catholic-Hierarchy.org. Each diocese has a corresponding website where you can find a list of the Catholic parishes. Find the closest parish to where you live.
Going to Mass, or renewing your Christian covenant with the Lord, blesses and molds your mind, for that week, to think as a faithful Catholic Christian should be thinking on an array of current issues and events one sees and hears about on the news.
If you can't get to a Sunday Mass for one of these exceptions, (although it's not the same), watch Mass on TV, say a Spiritual Communion, and pray the Rosary.
I hope this helps,
Mike
Spiritual Communion
O Lord Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar.
I love you above all things, (with all my mind, with all my heart, and with all my soul).
I love you because you are infinitely good and worthy of all my love.
Since I cannot receive You now sacramentally, at least come spiritually into my heart.
I embrace myself entirely to You and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Come Lord Jesus and glorify Yourself through my weak, broken body.
Amen.
