Hi, guys —

Firstly, thank-you very much for being available to answer questions.

I am from the United Kingdom (England). I, myself, belong to the Church of England, whereas my wife (second generation Irish), and (with my blessing) children are Roman Catholic. I booked tickets to a rugby semi-final playoff on Easter Sunday, (2 hours away, without me realizing that it was Easter Sunday), for myself and my two sons however my wife had already invited the family over for the day. My question is:

  • Should I take my sons to the rugby match or should I accept the loss of the ticket price (which is not that significant) in order to respect Easter Sunday in its entirety?

I will respect your answer, and thank-you for your reply.

Yours most sincerely,

David

David —

As long as the boys don't miss Easter Mass (on Saturday evening or Sunday morning), and you don't miss an Easter Service, then the choice is yours.

There is no moral issue here, just an issue of:

  • money
  • commitments
  • family, and
  • rarity of events

all of which can be discussed and balanced as you and your wife come to a decision.

Mary Ann
