Hi, Brian —
There is no leftover bread and wine,
properly speaking, but there are
leftover consecrated Hosts (the living
Body of the Lord) and Precious Blood
under the form of wine.
The Blessed Sacrament hosts are stored
in the tabernacle.
The Precious Blood
is consumed by the priest, by the
deacon or the Extraordinary Ministers
of Communion. The vessels are then
washed and the water is poured down
a special sink which drains into
the ground.
