Hi, guys —
First of all, I'm really sorry if you have heard things about Islam that have given you a bad impression.
Catholic, Christian, Islam and other religions all teach about how to be a good person and how to be closer to God, but the details about how this is achieved are not the same.
Islam is the religion of piece. Islam teaches us to be a good person and behave well. All the bad things, e.g. anything that would harm oneself or other people like lying, fighting, stealing, etc. are against Islam.
Islam teaches us to make relations with other humans no matter whether they are rich or poor, of another race, black or white, or religion, from any place, and no matter what job they do.
Islam teaches that:
"The only, one god is Allah and Muhammad is his last messenger."
The person that believes this is consider a Muslim (Islamic Men), and Muslims do what Islam asks.

- If Islam is the religion of peace — and "Islam" means "submission", not "peace" (that would be salaam), as in the submission of slavery — then why does Islam, in its doctrine of forced conversion, require that pagans be given the choice to convert or die?
9:5. Fight against those who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
- Does this sound like peace?
- Have you studied Jesus's teachings in our New Testament on peace and compared them to Islam?
Christianity far surpasses Islam in the teaching of peace.
First, there is no call whatsoever for war in Christianity.
Second, Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers", and "Do not resist an evil person. When someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also." (Matthew 5:39) And, "If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them." (Luke 6:29)
Christianity also has authentic unconditional love (genuine disinterested desire for the well-being of another), which I have not seen present in Islam. There is much more to this.
I encourage you to read the Gospels and, if you are able, read the whole New Testament.
I remember conversing with you but I don't remember how much of the New Testament you had read.

Eric,
Did you know that Islam never forces anyone to convert to Islam? Did you know about the story during war between Islam and Mushrikun of Mecca, when Muhammad (the prophet) was still alive?
When we have had any war, the caught opponent was given 3 choices:
- Convert to Islam
- Pay
- Teach 10 Muslim kids until they can read and write.
There was no such teaching that said: convert or die.
Quran 9:5 talks about after the Mushrikun break the promise. Read (Quran 9:111) carefully.
You will know more and understand deeper if you open your hear to reading.
If you want talk about it you must find more information.
Lets talk about it after you read all of Quran 9.
My advice: Don't learn from other people who are not Muslim or Muslims who don't know the faith.
They might give you the wrong information.

It's number of Bibles we have. Islam has only one Bible (The Holy Quran) and it's already perfect since the prophet is still alive but Christianity has so many and it's translations are random.
So I don't need to study the New Testament because there will be other newer ones and other newer versions.

You are quite wrong.
There is only one Bible, the one recognized by the Catholic Church.
Translations are not "new" Bibles.
