Stephen Thomas Michael Brexel wrote:

Hi, guys —

Each parish church purchases wine and bread to be used in their Eucharistic celebrations.

  • Does the Church mandate who pays for the bread and wine used in Eucharistic celebrations?

Thank you,

Stephen

  { Who pays for the cost of the hosts and the wine used in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass? }

Fr. Nick replied:

Hi Stephen,

The Pastor would be responsible and he would use Church funds to purchase these supplies.

These Church funds could include money donated from a family or individuals for the purpose of providing altar bread and wine for the Eucharist.

Fr. Nick
