Hi Leonard,

  • Is it a Cross or a Crucifix?
  • Are you able to take a digital photo and send it to me?

I can try to help and find someone to identify it, but it is better if you can give me any history that comes with it.

  • Where in Cornwall are you?

I ask because some years ago a man in Cornwall was clearing out his loft. He found a gold article wrapped in a sheet and he recognized it as something religious. He took it to his local Anglican Vicar who said it was something Popish and advised the man to contact the Catholic Bishop of Plymouth. He did this and the artifact turned out to be a monstrance-like article containing a relic of the true Cross of Christ.

This had been stolen some years earlier from Buckfast Abbey in Devon, to where it was returned and is now kept in a safe, coming out each September 14th for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

  • Could this be a crucifix which has become detached from a Rosary?

TRV-RON is a chemical compound and could be the material it's made of.
