Hi, Chris —
Yes, it is okay.
Like a child may relate to his father alone, so to may you relate to God alone. Since Jesus is God, this includes Him.
On the other hand, many children find support and solace in relating to their mother and siblings as well while trying to please their father.
God set up His Church, the extended body of Christ, as a family, to have a mother (Mary) as well as siblings (the saints) and friends (the angels). He created the family of God to support and help each other to please Him and live this life, and the next, as a community with Him as Eternal Father.
The only way to God and Heaven is through Christ and advantageous ways of getting to and through Christ is by the [help/intercession] of the rest of God's family — Mary and the saints.
- So if this is God's design and will for our salvation, that we please Him not just individually but as a loving family, then why oppose it?
Peace,
Paul
