Stephen Libor wrote:

Hi, guys —

  • I know it is good to make someone else feel good about themselves but how to react when, you feel, others feel, you have possessions that they feel, you don't deserve and envy you for having them?

Stephen Libor

  { How do you react when others resent you for having possessions they feel, you don't deserve? }

Bob replied:

Dear Stephen,

Thanks for the question.

If someone else is envious of you and your possessions, first you can pray for that person, and then try to be a witness, by showing that our goods are meant to bless others.

In other words, be generous, but don't do it for show, but instead, for example. People find less resentment when they recognize that a wealthy person is generous and cares about others.

It won't work in every case, as some people would rather live with a negative attitude, but others will grow into recognizing that we all can be used by God regardless of wealth or circumstance.

Peace,

Bob Kirby
