Jesus Christ is the Incarnate Word of God, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity. God has revealed himself to be a Community of Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is one in nature and three in Persons. This is a mystery inasmuch as the human mind cannot completely grasp what is the full essence of This Truth, but nonetheless can assent to the proposition based on the truthfulness of the one who revealed it, namely Jesus Christ. This truth is held by all Christians, not just Catholics, and has been codified in councils and creeds throughout the history of the Church.
I would suggest that if you want to fully understand what the Catholic Church teaches with respect to the nature of Christ and God you refer to the Catholic Catechism, the section most relevant to your inquiry is:
Peace,
