Hello to all at C-PATS!
I have a question involving history. While working with my child on a history project
(for school),
I stumbled onto a bit of chronological history which perplexed me and
caught my natural curiosity. Who better to answer my query than the folks at C-PATS!!
My question for you is regarding the Great Schism (1378), at which time there were
two popes, Pope Urban VI (in Rome) and Clement VII (in Avignon). Apparently, this lasted
almost 40 years.
- What situations caused this to occur?
- Who was affected?
- How was
this schism resolved?
- Who resolved this schism?
Thanks in advance for your time and
the correct version of this moment in history.
