I don't think that we can receive an altar call, walk out the Church doors never to live for God, and then be automatically ensured to enter Heaven. Now that might be possible since God is all loving and all merciful, however, I'm not willing to chance it.

I'm going to believe that I am saved by faith, and work as hard as I can to serve God and thank Him for that Gift. I know that it says somewhere in the Bible that, Faith without works is dead, but I still was wondering how the Catholic Church would respond to Romans 4.

Scott Hahn gave an excellent explanation of the Abraham being justified issue on on an audio CD from St. Joseph Communication. James Akin uses the same arguments here:
