Hi, guys —
I'm a 50-year-old cradle Catholic who lives in the USA.
I regularly attend Church (gratefully I go to a wonderful
Catholic Church which is headed by a very holy priest).
I am a confirmed Catholic who is not married nor do I
have any children.
Anyway, my question is about a friend of mine who
received his First Holy Communion as a child but was never
confirmed. He is attending RCIA at a different parish and
he was told that in order to be confirmed as a Catholic,
he would need to have his two previous marriages annulled.
He is divorced from both former wives and he is not dating
anyone, let alone planning on getting married.
- Does he have to have his prior marriages annulled before
he can be confirmed as a Catholic?
Thank you,
Mary
