Hi, guys —
I am getting divorced and a, so-called, friend
stated that I can no longer receive the Body
and Blood of Christ.
I believe she has been misinformed, but I
wanted to get the correct information.
- Could you clarify this issue for me?
Thanks so much,
Monica

If someone gets divorced, can they still receive
the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist? }

Hi, Monica —
Thanks for your question.
You friend is indeed misinformed.
While the Church discourages divorce
and encourages couples to do everything
they can to resolve differences,
she recognizes that some times, it
is not possible.
Divorced people may receive Holy
Communion so long as they don't re-marry
and are pre-disposed (in a state
of grace) to receive the Blessed
Sacrament.
