Hi, Elon —
Thanks for your question.
Quitting a former employer is not,
in and of itself, a sin. However,
there is a related teaching of Jesus
which comes to mind: Christ tells
us that if we are on our way to offer
sacrifice to God and we remember
that our brother has something against
us, we should first go and be reconciled
with our brother before we
offer our sacrifice.
So as Christians, we should make
every effort to be a good witness
to others. If you believe that you
somehow wronged this former employer
For example:
- you left without giving proper
notice, or
- you otherwise quit in a improper
way
then you should go and apologize,
but if you gave proper notice and
simply left because you wanted to
move on, you were in your rights
to leave the job. In these cases,
there is no reason to ask the employer
or God for forgiveness.
