Hello,
My name is Jude Kainge; I am a Year
12 student at St. Joseph's Nudgee College
in Brisbane, Australia and I'm currently doing
an assignment on Roman Catholicism and its
views on abortion.
I have a list of interview questions below
and would greatly appreciate it if one of
you would kindly answer them. I need your
replies as soon as possible.
If my questions offend you or are too sensitive,
please reject my offer. Please put your name
and occupation after the replies to the interview
questions.
Interview Questions:
- As a Christian or Muslim, what are your
views on abortion?
- Does your religion believe abortion is
wrong? If so why?
- What are some values, attitudes and beliefs
you attach with the notion of abortion?
- Do you think abortion should be made Illegal,
even under any circumstances, such as Incest,
rape or mainly when the mother's
life is in danger? If so why?
- Modern technology has helped medical science
to capture images of forming fetuses in
a mother during early pregnancy. With this
in mind, if the baby is physically damaged
in the mother's womb, do you think it would
be wise to terminate for the fetus's sake?
- Do you think a mother should be given
the right to terminate a baby for petty,
personal reasons: such as:
- she is young
- not ready, or
- doesn't want the kid, etc.?
Thank-you for taking time to answer my questions;
it's greatly appreciated.

Hi, Jude —

My colleagues may wish to add their

a baby for petty, personal reasons:
such as:
- she is young

- doesn't want the
kid, etc.?
- As a Christian or Muslim, what
are your views on abortion?
Abortion is murder. Abortion
is killing. For this reason it
is always wrong under any circumstance
including rape, incest, and the
life or health of the mother.
Although these circumstances can take an emotional drain on the woman and her family, one cannot deny the existence of a new baby in the mother's womb.
|
- Does your religion believe abortion
is wrong? If so why?
Yes, the Catholic Church and Catholic
faith teaches that abortion is
always wrong because it is the
killing of a person who God has
a specific plan for and no one
has a right to choose to kill that babies choices.
Note: I am personally pro-choice but the choice I'm talking
about is not the mother's choice
but the future baby's choices.
Men and women who claim they are pro-choice, think
with a selfish, shallow mind and are really anti-choice.
My question to them is:
- What choice does that baby
you see in an ultrasound
of a pregnant mother have?
The answer: None. Why? They are
killed|aborted.
Sometimes they will reply with:
but that baby is not legally protected
by law and is not a legal child.
My reply: The
Unborn Victims of Violence
Act of 2004 (Public Law
108-212) is a United States
law which recognizes a child
in utero as
a legal victim, if he or
she is injured or killed during
the commission of any [of over
60 listed federal] crimes of
violence.
Many pro-abortion people turn
this into an emotional argument
when there is no need to.
The Catholic Church has so many Crisis Pregnancy Centers to:
1. support both the mother and
father
2. help financially, if needed
3. help them educationally, if
needed
And so many couples who can't
have a child, are looking for
children to adopt.
The pro-abortion myths I've heard
are ridiculous. Despite what Planned
Parenthood says, there is no over
population in the world at all.
Planned Parenthood falsely preaches
this to promote abortions.
|
- What are some values, attitudes
and beliefs you attach with the notion
of abortion?
- demonic
- evil
- immoral
- the Democratic party in America.
I call them the Demonic party in America
- Planned Parenthood, the leading
Abortion provider for over 50
years.
- Margaret Sanger, founder
- done for convenience sake at
the cost of killing an immortal
soul
|
- Do you think abortion should be
made Illegal, even under any circumstances,
such as Incest, rape or mainly when
the mother's life is in danger?
If so why?
Of course it should be! When a man, a woman,
and God bring forth new life, under
any condition, it
is a wonderful thing to celebrate.
God has decided to bring forth
new life into the world for a
specific purpose in life at this
time in our history.
The cases you are bringing up
are all crisis situations involving the emotions of the moment.
One has to look past the emotion
of the moment, toward the reality
of the situation. This is where
Crisis Pregnancy Centers help.
What isn't talked about is the
number of male and female scientists,
doctors, geniuses and inventors
that have been killed by abortions.
To the female reader of this posting
who is pregnant:
Your baby may
be the next genius, doctor, or
inventor for this time in history!
We may have had the cure for cancer
by now, except for the fact that
some women were persuaded to abort
their babies, who would have created that cure for cancer. |
- Modern technology has helped medical
science to capture images of forming
fetuses in a mother during early
pregnancy. With this in mind, if
the baby is physically damaged in
the mother's womb, do you think it
would be wise to terminate for the
fetus's sake?
Question for you Jude:
If you
were that baby who
was physically damaged
in your mother's womb,
do you think it would
be wise that your mother to terminate you . . . for
your sake?
Would you rather [not exist on
Earth] and be killed by your mother
or give life to others you meet
in the world, even if you did
have some type of handicap in life?
Your answer is my answer.
As a Cashier at Target, I encounter many special needs children and adults. The one thing that stands out to me is the love and care the father and mother have for their son(s) or daughter(s) no matter:
- what the special need(s) are or
- how severe the special need(s) are.
These parents truly have a unique vocation of care that the murderers at Planned Parenthood will never understand or appreciate. |
- Do you think a mother should be
given the right to terminate a baby
for petty, personal reasons: such
as:
- she is young
- not ready, or
- doesn't want the kid, etc.?
No! The mother doesn't have
that right. Yes, she has the freedom
but freedom is given to us to
do good things in life, not bad things.
How can I say this? Because man
and woman were created with the
image of a loving God in their
soul, not that demonic bastard
Satan, the killer of souls.
If she is Young,
If she is not ready,
If she really doesn't want the
kid ...
All she has to do is bring themselves
to the nearest Crisis Pregnancy Center for support
and care, not Planned Parenthood.
The Catholic Church has loads
of these Crisis Pregnancy Centers worldwide.
All she has to do is bring her
situation to the local bishop
and that bishop will always be
able to assist her emotionally, physically, and financially.
It is important to know
that any woman or young girl that
has had an abortion, yet regrets
it, can always have this grave
sin forgiven by a Catholic
priest.

- As a Christian or Muslim, what
are your views on abortion?
Direct abortion, that is, the
deliberate and immediate ( = without mediation, not right now) attack to kill a human embryo
is always gravely immoral. It
is possible to do an operation
on a part of the body that will
result in the unintentional death
of an embryo (say, removing a
cancerous uterus) for a serious reason but the operation cannot
directly attack the embryo.
|
- Does your religion believe abortion
is wrong? If so why?
Yes. It has to do with human life.
Because, scientifically, from
conception an embryo is a human
being, having a full set of chromosomes,
being independent genetically
from its mother. Growing and developing,
and so forth, we believe it should
be treated as such, and not murdered.
To define human being in any other
way, or to confer human personhood
at any other point, bases it on
some factor that causes problems
down the road.
For example, if we decide that personhood is conferred when
the baby can feel pain.
- Does that mean that it's OK
to kill an adult if we anesthetize
it?
- Or if the adult loses its
sense of feeling for some person?
- What if we confer personhood
when the baby is born?
- Well, what's the difference
between:
- the baby once it is
born versus
- what it is on the
other side of the birth canal?
Nothing, it's the same. Nothing
changed. Birth is a strictly arbitrary
definition of personhood.
- What if we define personhood
on when a baby has all its
organs and parts?
- Does that mean that an infant
born with a missing arm or
leg is not a person?
The only consistent and scientifically
honest way to determine whether
a baby is a person is to put it
at conception.
|
- What are some values, attitudes
and beliefs you attach with the notion
of abortion?
and
- Do you think abortion should be
made Illegal, even under any circumstances,
such as Incest, rape or mainly when
the mother's life is in danger?
If so why?
Human life should be protected
for whatever reason, although,
as I've said,
if removing a body part of the
mother causes the unintended death
of her baby, that should be allowed.
Note that the circumstances surrounding
the conception have nothing to
do with whether the baby is a
person or not. Everyone would
agree that a baby born of rape
is a person. If it's a person
then, it's just as much as person
in the womb as any other baby.
It's a difficult circumstance,
to be sure, but it's not the baby's
fault it was conceived in that
way. Also, women suffer just as
much trauma after an abortion
of a rape baby as when they have a non-rape related abortion. I know, I have a friend
who had a child by rape and aborted
it.
Allowing abortion offends the
dignity of the human person. It
communicates that a person's
worth is not based unconditionally
on being, but based conditionally
on some attribute or something
incidental to being rather than
being itself — being functional,
being conscious, being sensitive
to feeling, being wanted, so forth.
A human being deserves to live
simply by virtue of being a human
being.
For example, to think that a
baby's life is only worth protecting
if it is functional makes its
worth dependent on what it can
do for us — on its utility,
which is selfish.
Making the worth
of its life dependent on whether
it can feel pain satisfies our
squeamishness; we don't like the
idea of making a baby suffer,
so it's worthy to live if it can
feel, but not otherwise. Again,
this is a self-centered view.
If it is worth living only if
it is wanted, likewise, makes
its worth dependent on how important
it is to us subjectively, but
human dignity is objective: it
exists whether someone feels or
acknowledges it or not.

the baby is physically damaged in
the mother's womb, do you think it
would be wise to terminate for the

No more than we should kill a
deformed infant after birth. It's
still a person.
Such children often bring great
joy to their families, contrary
to conventional wisdom.
|
- Do you think a mother should be
given the right to terminate a baby
for petty, personal reasons: such
as:
- she is young
- not ready, or
- doesn't want the kid, etc.
Absolutely not. Again, the dignity
of a human being and its worthiness
to live is not dependent on its
subjective desirability of anyone
else.
See, if you start to think this
way, you'll eventually treat all
human
beings this way: You have dignity
only if you are useful to me.
This is detrimental to society.
