Hi, guys —
My first marriage was annulled by the Church
when I was 20 years old. I remarried 10
years later in the Methodist church. My husband
and I have now been married 28 years but we have
only attended my Catholic parish,
occasionally, when I returned to the Church
and went to Confession.
- What can we do to have our marriage blessed?
Sincerely,
Pamela W.

Pamela,
Assuming you are Catholic, if your
union in the Methodist church was
without a dispensation from the Catholic
Church and without the official Catholic
witness of a priest or deacon present,
it is considered invalid.
Go immediately to your pastor to
see if you can have it convalidated.
It's more than just a blessing, it's
a validation. In the meantime, it
would be proper to live as brother
and sister until this occurs.

Hi, Pamela —
Ask your parish priest, he will take
care of it.
