It used to be true, a long time ago, (over 100 years ago I think), that Roman Catholics were not allowed to eat any animal products (including eggs and dairy) during certain seasons and fast days, including (Lent, the 40 days before Easter).
This was the ancient custom of the Christian church and is still observed by Eastern Rite Christians (including some Catholics), but there is no categorical prohibition against drinking milk; it's a discipline (not a moral issue) intended to point to the life to come.
