Dear Kevin,

Repentance includes contrition for being sorry for the sin you've committed, and means to turn from your sins and resolve to live a more holy, godly life.

For a Catholic, this necessarily includes going to the sacrament of Confession to become reconciled to God and His Church when serious sin is involved.
