Hi, guys —

I have unfortunately been divorced for a year. I have three teenage girls and my youngest is having a very difficult time with this.

She is full of anger and resentment towards her father because of his infidelity and the fact that he left his family. I have had her in counseling, but that has only made things worse. She will have nothing to do with her father and won't even be in the same room with him.

I am looking for a Catholic support group for teens of divorce, or even a specialized class for her, but am unable to find anything in the Houston area.

  • Do you have any suggestions?

Deniece

Mike replied:

Hi Deniece,

Thanks for the question.
I assume you have already checked with the diocese of Houston.

If you haven't I would recommend so. You can contact them here:

You want to talk to someone in the Family Life ministry.
They should be able to help.

If you move and live in another diocese you can find the web site address for various Catholic dioceses through Catholic Hierarchy:

Catholic Hierarchy Diocesan Search

In the past, this site has a good Catholic rating; you should probably check it out:

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) also has a web site called

For your Marriage that also has a divorce page.

That's the best I can do. Maybe one of these sites has a mini-ministry for teens effected by divorce.

You have to do a little homework on your end. : )

I hope this helps,

Mike
