Nancy,
You certainly have touched upon a question relevant to our time and culture.
It is often very difficult to navigate through such circumstances, but ultimately every adult is responsible for their own actions. If you are not attempting to lead one in to sin, you are not responsible for doing so.
What you can do when you are watching a DVD with others is ask if anyone would object if you fast forwarded for a moment. In a theater you don't have that luxury of course.
Many, otherwise, fine movies put unnecessarily objectionable material in and it is our duty to
exercise good judgement with these matters as you seem to be doing.
Lastly, when caring for the young, the duty to protect their innocence is paramount and even
G-rated films can sometimes require vigilance.
Peace,
Bob Kirby
