Hi, guys —
- If we need to make restitution for something and we can't do it all at once, can we:
- save until we have saved the full amount and then pay it all off, or
- are we obliged to pay little by little?

Paul replied:
Hi, Carol —
I don't think there is a hard and fast rule about this. With such questions the Church usually speaks of what's reasonable, and leaves it up to us to sincerely discern what is reasonable in the given situation.
Peace,

Hi, Carol —
I would say:
- If you can address the issue with the person you need to make restitution to, do that, and see if they are OK with your method of making satisfaction.
- If not, bring the issue up in Confession and go with what the priest suggests to you.
