Dear Steven Ace,
I would be a little more cautious about doing this than my colleague Bob.
It's my understanding that most Christian fellowships are Protestant fellowships.
If that is what you are addressing in your question I wouldn't recommend it unless you are
well-schooled in:
- the Scriptures
- a good Catholic understanding of key Scripture passages, and
- the Teachings of the Church.
People who attend Protestant Christian fellowships may believe different things on various biblical teachings, but the one issue they all agree on is:
- The Catholic Church doesn't know how to interpret their own Bible, and
- they reject most of the Church's teachings.
- If you are well-versed in the Scriptures and Church teaching as Bob is, you should go.
- If you aren't, I wouldn't recommend it.
Instead I would take the initiative and start a Catholic Christian fellowship in your local parish [and/or] check to see if there is something similar at the diocesan level.
I hope this helps,
Mike
