Polygamists derive their rationale from the fact that the Bible does not explicitly say you can only marry one wife, and since they look to continuing their spousal relationships beyond the grave, the man with more, is considered more greatly blessed. They find justification for polygamy
in the Bible through figures like Solomon, and see those paradigms setting the way.

That being said, Christian tradition has always condemned polygamy through the authoritative Magisterium of the Church. Marriage is a Sacrament that is meant to witness Christ's love for His Church (See, for example, 1 Corinthians 7) but it does not remain in effect after death, for then we are all His bride, spiritually speaking (Christ himself answered that question. See Luke 20:33).

Movies and stories that involve fantasy and magic are not automatically wrong simply because we condemn the use of real magic.

C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, and others used the written medium effectively to convey ideals that belong to our Faith, while capturing the imagination and interest of both the young and old. Such endeavors are rare but Christian organizations today follow in a noble effort.
