Both the Bibles you mentioned have flaws, and while they would not be disallowed, they would not be recommended. If you go to a good Catholic bookstore or even online you can find something better.

Find a Catholic edition suitable for children. The Protestant ones won't have artwork and other highlights of Catholic devotions, i.e., the Eucharist, Mary, etc.

Children like art, and the pictures tell the story — much like the stain glass windows of our churches. I can still remember certain pictures from a Children's bible in my elementary school that made such an impact on me.

Don't miss that opportunity.
