Hi, guys —
- I know Catholics may get married with a blessing from the Church to another Christian but what if the Christian has been married once and divorced?
The Christian and the ex— had a small ceremony; it was just:
- him
- the ex—, and
- a preacher who married them in a quick ceremony.
- Would he still be considered married in the Church and, if so, would he be able to annul the marriage?

From what you said, the Marriage between the Christian and the ex— was invalid because there were not two witnesses present.
If that is the case, no annulment would be needed for that marriage.
Instead, it would be a more simple type of process.

It depends on the faith of the ex—. If they were Catholic or Orthodox, it was a Marriage outside of the Church, so no Annulment would be necessary.
If they were any other faith or no faith, it was a valid Marriage so an annulment would be necessary.
