Hi, guys —
I think I am being led to the Catholic Church but I cannot find an answer as to whether the Church will recognize my marriage.
- My husband and I were Protestant when married.
- He was baptized but I was not.
- I was baptized in a Protestant church several years after our marriage.
- He does not want to convert to Catholicism.
- Will the Church recognize our marriage?

Seeing I am being drawn to the Church, will the Church recognize our marriage? }

Fr. Jonathan replied:
Lauren,
The Church recognizes marriages of non-Catholics so, yes.
- Was it the first marriage for both of you?

Lauren replied:
Yes,
This is the first marriage for both me and my husband.

Fr. Jonathan replied:
Your marriage is already recognized.
There is no barrier to being accepted into the Church.
