Hi, guys —
I have a question that's on my mind.
Yesterday I had a picnic on a windy day and I was mad because I couldn't light the grill so I started cursing at Mother Nature because of how mad I was.
I'm scared that if Mother Nature is part of the Bible that I have committed blasphemy.
Please help me. I'm scared.

Richard,
God has communicated to us through His work and His Word. Mother Nature, as you call it, is the work of God, but certainly not God Himself.
It is very wrong to curse God in any way, shape, or form; for we receive our very existence and the offer of eternal life from Him, Who Is Love.
As for traditional profanity, when things go wrong, never use God's name in vain or anything godly, but perhaps you could get into the habit of saying more innocuous and aesthetically pleasing words like wow or unbelievable or something like that.

It was not blasphemy; we all have outbursts in frustration. These moments often remind us how much we need God to help us become better.
Have no fear, God loves you. If you say something you think He wouldn't like, apologize immediately and, if it was something very bad, take it to the sacrament of Confession.

God is willing to forgive any sin there.

I'm a 14-year-old boy and my mind keeps thinking that I am gay which leaves me so confused.
I have no interest in being gay but can't get these thoughts out of my mind.
- How can I erase these thoughts from my mind?
- How can I can make myself understand I like girls?

Richard,
You are not gay. Don't worry about it and don't worry about stray thoughts that come into your mind. You are not responsible for them, so each time they come into your mind, try to laugh at them and move on.
God will take care of you if you trust Him. Hold on to your faith and these silly thoughts will eventually disappear.
I suggest three things:
- Pray regularly the St. Michael prayer, and also pray it when you get these thoughts.

- Secondly, do whatever you can to stop the morally illicit act of masturbation.
- Thirdly, take both of these problems to the sacrament of Confession. Explain to the priest and allow him to judge and give good advice.

I just wanted to add two cents to what Paul and Bob have said.
You said:

As you get older, try to get involved in more social events with groups of faithful Christians.
Over time God will provide your vocation whether it is the single life or a married vocation with family and children.
