Hi, guys —
I have some questions about a mixed marriage in the Catholic Church. I was raised Catholic and have family members strongly pushing me to pursue this option.
Currently, I do not actively participate in the Catholic Church because I have some serious issues with the Catholic Church's activities. The God that I believe in is the same one that I was raised to believe in, I just do not attend Mass any longer.
- What would be your suggestion for me and my fiancé in this instance?
- I am of the belief that it is wrong to take this route only to appease my family, or is it OK to do in the eyes of God?
I truly do not know what to do.
Any advice you can offer would be truly helpful.

Mary,
Can you be a little clearer on what you are asking.
- Do you mean to get married in the Catholic Church?
- Is your fiancé Catholic?
Thanks,

Mary replied:
Yes,
I was raised Catholic. My fiancé is not Catholic.
My family is urging me to try a mixed marriage in the Catholic Church.

Bob replied:
Mary,
You should talk to a priest about this. Getting married in the Church is a good idea, but there is a lot to discuss: the reasons you left, your future as a Catholic, etc.
Start the dialogue and be open to God working through this process. Initially, there may be no way to solve it all, but make the inquiries.
Peace,
