Hi, guys —

  • Is it a sin not to attend a week long church camp if you think you aren't going to enjoy it?

I feel it may be a bad situation but I don't want to sin by not going.

Eric replied:

It would only be a sin if you were a minor and doing so would constitute dishonoring your parents or disobeying an explicit mandate from them.

In that case, the sin would not be not going to church camp, but disobeying your parents. If you think it may be a bad situation, discuss it with them.

If you are not a minor, then you are free to do what you wish.

Paul replied:

Not all church-led outings are good to go to. In fact, some are bad.

If you have good reasons for your bad feeling about this, I would follow them.
