David Donaldson wrote:

Hi, guys —

I have a stumbling block in my attempts to pray the Rosary.

My parish priest told me in Confession to pray it every day. When I begin, my eyes tear up, and I am flooded with emotion (probably tied to past and reoccurring trauma).

  • How do I get past that?

I feel that somehow, I am being held back as I keep putting off praying.

David

Bob replied:

Dear David,

Don't let the tears throw you off.

Many years ago, when I had my adult conversion, I too, began to pray the Rosary. Almost every time it would bring profound tears, but I found that they were healing tears. It could be that the Holy Spirit is going to use the Rosary to heal you in ways you would never have expected.

Just keep going, I guarantee you that God will do something deep in your heart and soul, and that will form the slate on which he can rebuild you into an even better version of yourself.

This is a great grace that not everyone receives, so He undoubtedly is working in you in a special way.

Peace,

Bob Kirby

Thank you, Bob!!
