Hi, guys —
The Church teaches we should marry someone of the opposite sex and never use contraception.
- What does The Church do for faithful Catholics who do this, hold a good job, but are so fertile they produce more children than they can financially afford?
- Does The Church make up the costs, provide a bigger home, childcare, and other needs?
It is my understanding that the point of not using birth control is because we should let God decide if a child will come of a union; and I am sure He would not choose to overburden a couple who are being faithful to each other and God.

Dear Shawn,
Sincerest apologies for the lateness of this reply.
The Church does not require couples to have as many children as they can. Look up Natural Family Planning (NFP) for more information. Also see the Couple to Couple league (https://ccli.org.)
The same document that condemned artificial contraception, Humanae Vitae #16, allows for this:
If therefore there are well-grounded reasons for spacing births, arising from the physical or psychological condition of husband or wife, or from external circumstances, the Church teaches that married people may then take advantage of the natural cycles immanent in the reproductive system and engage in marital intercourse only during those times that are infertile, thus controlling birth in a way which does not in the least offend the moral principles which We have just explained.
