Hi, guys —

I’m 76 years old and I've been married for 54 years. We’re Catholic and married in the Catholic Church. We left the Church many years ago and we are both being called back.

When in our 20s, after having two daughters, we became pregnant and, for selfish reasons on my part, I convinced my wife to abort the pregnancy. We have lived many years, and we are not sure the Church would have us.  For several months we have felt a calling to return to the Church and have prayed the Rosary together every night.

  • My question is can we return to our Catholic beginnings?

Thanks for replying,

Richard

Eric replied:

Of course you can return!

Seek out a priest and request the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and confess that and all the mortal sins (those serious sins committed with full knowledge they are wrong, and with deliberate consent) you have committed since your last Confession (so far as you can remember), and the priest will absolve you and you can return to the sacraments!

Welcome home!!!

Eric

Richard replied:

Eric,

Thanks so very much this has made my day and life so much better.

God Bless!!!

Richard
