John Mack wrote:

Hi, guys —

  • How do I find out if a priest (Father Wilhelm Berger) was beatified?
  • Who can I contact for more information about Father Wilhelm (my third great uncle)?

Thank you for taking the time to answer.

God bless,

John Mack

  { How do I find out if a priest was beatified and who can I contact for the biography on my uncle? }

Richard replied:

Hi John,

It looks like Fr. Berger founded an order of sisters, the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart.

Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart

You could contact them to ask.

Mike replied:

Hi John,

For general issues like these I would follow Richard's same logic and get in contact with or ask the relevant religious orders for information.

If the person beautified was a lay man or woman, I would get in contact with the surrounding diocese and/or parishes where he or she lived and worked for the Lord.

All beatification processes start at the diocesan level.

Mike
