Hi, guys —

I am a non-believer but am an open-minded one and would like to try different religious views.

  • That said, I was wondering if non-believers are allowed to go to Confession?

Eric replied:

Robert —

Only Catholics and those about to enter the Church are permitted to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Confession), but if you want to speak to a priest and discuss your sins in a non-sacramental way, I think most would be open to that.

Just make it clear that you are not Catholic and are just seeking spiritual counsel.

Eric
