Notification of Correction: Correcting Sean Hannity
On September 22, 2020, I heard the following on Sean Hannity's Fox New show, Hannity:
Hi Sean,
Thanks for standing up for conservative Christian views in the United States. It is appreciated!
On September 22, 2020, On Hannity, after a piece on the Trump Rally in Moon Township, Pennsylvania given by Lawrence Jones, you continued your show with a segment on a Supreme Court (SCOTUS) nominee, Amy Coney Barrett.
After providing a very good profile of her and after mentioning several news outlets who had articles smearing Judge Barrett, you said:
Keep in mind, Joe Biden. He is a practicing Catholic. Nancy Pelosi is a practicing Catholic. Now they obviously have different views than the Church but their faith, to me, is between:
them
their Church, and
their God,
not Sean Hannity.

Sean,
I was very disappointed with your comments, especially coming from self-professed Catholic.
First, I could care less about your religious educational background whether as a lay Catholic or a former seminarian. What you said was scandalous!
Joe Biden is not a practicing Catholic and Nancy Pelosi is not a practicing Catholic even if both go to Sunday Mass and scandalously receive Communion.
Being a practicing, faithful Catholic requires both faithful words and deeds!
In order to drive home my point, let's look at this a different way.
Tell me what you think about this dialogue:
The Time: The Early Church, c. 33 A.D.
The Apostles, who always met on Sunday to celebrate the Eucharist, were talking among themselves. St. Peter and St. Andrew noted that St. Thomas was saying things like:
you don't have to follow the teachings of the Church on faith and morals as lead by St. Peter.
having abortions was permissible, and
as the group of Twelve men, we should consider having a woman priests.
St. Andrew followed up by saying,
What difference does this make; he is still a practicing Catholic who meets with us on Sunday, isn't he?
St. Peter replied, My dear Andrew, you are mistaken on this point.
If we permitted Thomas to continue saying these things, mass confusion would explode among faithful Catholic Christians. Thomas' words would not be said by practicing Catholic Christians and, if we said nothing, it would encourage others to fall into those same errors Thomas has fallen into. They would say,
If one of the Twelve Apostles, Thomas, believes these things, why can't we?
Andrew replied:
But Peter, isn't Thomas' views on Church issues between him and God alone?
What right do we have to infringe on his opinions?
Aren't his views between:
him
the Church (the Catholic Church). and
his God?
and . . . not us?
St. Peter replied:
Our faith, Andrew, consist of one believing community who professes One, Holy, Catholic faith. The word Catholic not only means universal but it also means a faith (in its totality).
There are many who call themselves Christians but don't believe all what Christians are taught to believe. These christian groups include the:
Note: The Canon of Scripture was not known until 382 A.D. at the Council of Rome, but if Peter and Andrews had the Scriptures, they could have very well quoted the following passages:
17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the Church; and if he refuses to listen even to the Church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to every one, an apt teacher, forbearing, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth, 26 and they may escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
19 My brethren, if any one among you wanders from the truth and some one brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
19 And we have the prophetic word made more sure. You will do well to pay attention to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, 21 because no prophecy ever came by the impulse of man, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
The point Matthew, Paul, James, and Peter are making is that we should privately talk to them first and try to correct them and, even if we have tried to correct them privately, we can never condone bad deeds, behavior or words that dissent from the Church's Teachings.
By saying, Biden and Pelosi are practicing Catholics, Sean, you have condoned both Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi's behavior and actions; and led others to possibly believe that their words and deeds are in line with the Catholic faith you claim to believe in.
This coming November election is too important be sending anti-Catholic signals to faithful Catholics. There are an array of issues to evaluate both President Donald Trump and Joe Biden on, but for Catholic Christians there is a hierarchy of important issues.
The first and foremost issue for the faithful Catholic voter is voting for a Pro-Life President.
Issues like immigration, the death penalty, the economy, poverty, racial issues, etc. are irrelevant because you can't talk about these issues as it relates to an aborted dead fetus, who is also a person.
As I said initially: Being a practicing, faithful Catholic requires both faithful words and deeds!
Biden said at the 2020 75th Alfred E. Smith Virtual Dinner the following:
. . . and throughout my life in public service I've been guided by the tents of Catholic Social doctrines that cut across all confessional faiths. What you do to the least among us, you do unto me. We have an obligation to one another. We cannot serve ourselves at the expense of others.
He said: We cannot serve ourselves at the expense of others.
This is exactly what he has done for the past 47 years!. He has served himself and the Biden family vacuuming money from America-hating country to America-hating country.
Once a person's public service ends, they don't stop being a public figure, if you are going to claim you are a practicing Catholic, your words and actions have to reflect that, yes, even when you are running for President. Biden's doesn't! Logically, Biden can't claim to be a practicing Catholic when he support abortion on demand and refuses to talk about other extremely important Catholic issues!
Sadly, the only so-called catholics who would vote for a pro-abortion candidate are uncatechized Catholics who dissent from the Church's faith because Biden is more presidential or because they like his personal character better.
Being presidential or having a nice personal character is not the foundation for the Catholic faith.
The teachings of the Faith rooted in Jesus' Own Words are the foundation for the Catholic Christian faith.
