David wrote:

Hello everyone,

  • Are the Magi saints?

Thank you for the answer.

David

  { Are the Magi saints? }

Eric replied:

Hi Dave,

Yes, their feast is on January 6th.

They were canonized by acclamation, however, not by the infallible process we use now to declare saints.

Eric

Mary Ann replied:

Well, I don't know. Jan 6th is the Epiphany, aka Three Kings' Day, but it has never been presented as their feast. I would check on the Catholic Encyclopedia.

Mary Ann

John replied:

Hi Dave,

I just wanted to note that your question deals with a pious tradition (emphasis on the small t) and not doctrine.

Our answer is based on speculation which is based on pius tradition.

Hope this helps,

John
