Mark DeRosa wrote:

Hi, guys —

I have a genealogy question for you. My grandparents married in Brooklyn, in 1927. They married in the Church, but didn't register their marriage with the state.

I need to get a copy of their marriage certificate for the Italian consulate, but somehow, I need to get a "church" copy.

  • Do you have any idea how to do this?

Thanks,

Mark

Fr. Jonathan replied:

Hi Mark,

Start with the archives of the diocese. 1927 may be early enough that they can help you.

There is a cut off date after which they cannot help you.

Fr. Jonathan

Richard replied:

Hi Mark,

Ask the parish. They keep records.
