Hi, guys —

I have a habit of going to Confession once a week and sometimes I get irritated can't.
I feel like my sins are heavier if I don't go to Confession once a week.

  • It is okay if I go to Confession once a month?
  • Will the sins get worse if I go once a month?
  • If I go to Confession and receive Communion on Sunday of that week:
    • can I still receive Communion next Sunday (a week later) or
    • do I have to go to Confession again in order to receive Communion?

Bob replied:

Doyle,

It is okay to go to Confession monthly. You only need to go more frequently if there is serious sin involved, for instance sin of a sexual nature. Communion can be received when you are in the state of grace, meaning you have confessed all serious sin.

Don't sweat the small stuff; go to Mass, receive Holy Communion, get to monthly Confession and you will be okay.

Peace,

Bob Kirby
