Welcome to the Catholic family!
It is a blessing for us that you are joining our faith. There are many traditional prayers to Mary, the most notable being the Hail Mary, but you can simply speak your heart anytime and she will listen.
Mary, like all the saints, is family.
- How would you speak to one you love that is with God?
You would ask for their prayers, tell them your worries and maybe how you hope to see them one day. You would be real. Do that with Mary. She is a real person, who Jesus chose to be His Mother, and, in turn, shared with His whole family — which includes you and me. Praise God for that.
Lastly, if you are at a loss, learn the traditional prayers and just go with that; formula prayers are especially good when you don't know what to say but you want your heart to connect with our Heavenly family.
