Hi, guys —

  • Why is the Church all up in arms and against the (LGBT) Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community . . . while their greatest sin is loving another person and being their true self?
  • Didn't Jesus say, love your neighbor and isn't it even in the Ten Commandments?
  • Didn't Jesus say:

    11 Not everyone can accept this teaching, but only those to whom it is given. 12 For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.

    (Matthew 19:11-12)

Even the Romans and the Greeks were okay with man to man. In the old times, woman roles in plays were played by men and there was no discrimination. No one cared if you were straight or not. And only now is this discrimination occurring.

  • So what happened?

  { Why is the Church all up in arms against the LGBT? }

Paul replied:

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for the questions.

I believe you have made some broad statements and false presumptions.

First, this combination of letters (LGBT) is a brand new title to presumably include people who experience the disordered feelings of being attracted to the same-sex as well as people who may feel a desire to be the opposite sex. I'm not sure what you mean by up in arms and against, but the Church loves these people, as she love all people.

Everyone, this side of Eden, has disordered inclinations stemming from original sin and Christ came to offer us the grace to overcome them. It is out of love, that the Church teaches the truth about human sexuality and the behaviors that violate human nature such as sodomy and mutilation. Loving your neighbor means seeking the good of persons, not condoning what is bad for them just because they may desire it.

Not only does the Church stand firm on teaching the truth about the human person and sexual love in the midst of strong cultural fads and diversions throughout history, but she is more and more becoming the only voice in the modern world that consistently does so.

That is because Her teaching and sanctifying authority is not merely human, but divine.

Peace,

Paul
